FAQs

You might be a good candidate for hair transplantation if you have stable hair loss, sufficient healthy hair in donor areas, and are in good overall health. A consultation with a specialist will help determine your suitability.

After each hair transplant session, you may feel tenderness and soreness in the donor and recipient areas, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain relief and usually fades within 3 to 7 days. Numbness in the treated areas may persist for several weeks. You will also receive antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication to prevent infection and reduce swelling.

With the use of local anesthesia and intravenous sedation, discomfort during the procedure is eliminated.

Everyone loses 50 to 150 hairs daily, but they typically grow back. However, if hair follicles are thinning, regrowth may not occur. Both men and women can experience gradual hair loss due to aging and hormonal changes.

Treatment typically involves multiple sessions at several-month intervals. Most patients need just one to two appointments, each lasting about three to four hours, to achieve a full, natural look.

  • After surgery, you can usually return to work in 24 to 48 hours. Hair washing begins the next day. Avoid vigorous exercise for five to seven days. Expect some swelling, crusting, and itching for up to ten days, with numbness fading in a few weeks to months. Follow-up visits are scheduled every four to six months to check progress.

Expect transplanted hair to shed within the first month. New hair typically starts growing in about three months and continues at a normal rate. By six months, the transplanted hair will appear natural and will grow for a lifetime. The donor site will leave a small, hidden incision line.

While complications are rare, there is always some risk with surgery. Potential issues include minor bleeding or infection. It’s important to avoid aspirin and certain medications or herbal remedies before the procedure. Discuss any specific concerns with your physician.
